The challenge

Logilite had no online presence — all sales were through physical retail, limiting reach to local foot traffic only. They needed a full-featured bookstore that could handle a 10,000+ book catalog, multiple payment options, and daily order operations without any developer dependency.

The store needed to serve Telugu-speaking readers across India — a dispersed audience with no easy way to find quality Telugu literature online. Every day without a website was a missed sale.

The approach

How we solved it

We built a custom full-stack e-commerce platform on Laravel 6 with a MySQL backend — 3-level category hierarchy, AJAX-powered live search, persistent cart, dual payments, and a complete admin panel.

01

Catalog and Browse

10,000+ books across Telugu, English, and Hindi with a 3-level category hierarchy so readers can drill down by language, genre, and author.

02

Language Categories

Dedicated Telugu books section with filters — the core audience finds exactly what they want without searching.

03

Live Search

AJAX-powered search with autocomplete returns results instantly as the customer types — no page reload, no friction.

04

Search Interface

The search bar is persistent across all pages so readers can search from anywhere on the site.

After launch

In everyday use

01

Cart Experience

Persistent cart for guests and logged-in users, merged on sign-in. Clean cart view with quantity controls and order summary.

02

Checkout Flow

Pincode delivery checker, address selection, and payment method choice — Razorpay or Cash on Delivery.

03

User Dashboard

Every customer gets a full dashboard — order history, tracking, reorder, and address book management.

04

Order History

Full order list with status tracking and one-click reorder. Zero support tickets about order status.

The result

The platform went live in 6 weeks and immediately started processing orders. Within the first month the store was handling 300+ orders per month. The client manages the entire operation independently — zero developer dependency.

How it came together

  1. Week 1

    Discovery & Schema Design

Mapped all customer journeys, designed 3-level category hierarchy and full database schema.

  2. Week 2–3

    Core Platform Build

Built catalog, search, cart, and auth system. Laravel backend + Bootstrap/jQuery frontend in parallel.

  3. Week 4

    Payments & Admin Panel

Integrated Razorpay with webhook verification. Built full admin panel for books, orders, users, and content.

  4. Week 5

    PDF Invoicing, SEO & QA

Added PDF invoice generation, slug-based SEO URLs, XML sitemap, and end-to-end QA across all flows.

  5. Week 6

    Go-Live

Deployed to production, migrated initial catalog of 10,000+ books, and handed over to client with training.

“CoreChunk delivered a platform that transformed how we reach our customers. The quality of work, attention to detail, and speed of delivery were outstanding — we went from zero online presence to 300+ orders a month.”

Under the hood

How it is built

  • Laravel 6.x on PHP 7.2 — chosen for stability and long-term support on the client existing hosting infrastructure
  • AJAX search built with jQuery + Laravel Scout-style query builder — no Elasticsearch dependency, keeping infra costs low
  • Persistent cart stored server-side for logged-in users, localStorage for guests, merged on login
  • Razorpay webhook verification with idempotency keys to prevent duplicate order creation on payment retries
  • PDF invoices generated server-side using Laravel DomPDF — no third-party service
  • Image processing via Intervention/Image for consistent thumbnail sizes across the catalog
  • SEO handled via slug-based URLs, canonical tags, and a dynamically generated XML sitemap
