Culture and food: Secunderabad began as a British military camp and grew into a cosmopolitan city, where Anglo-Indians, Tamil Mudaliars, Rajasthani traders, Parsis and Sikhs lived side by side.
History: After the Chalukya empire broke up in the 11th century, the Hyderabad and Secunderabad area came under the Kakatiya dynasty, whose capital was Warangal.
